Mahalaya – Invoking the Goddess
The auspicious beginning of Durga Puja. Chandi Path recitation and sacred rituals invoke the Goddess's presence as we prepare the pandal.
Shashti – Pandal Opening
The pandal officially opens! The idol of Goddess Durga is revealed for the first darshan. A joyful day of community gathering to honour the Goddess.
Durga Saptami – Major Rituals
One of the most significant days. Major pujas and ceremonies fill the day with spiritual energy, alongside cultural programmes showcasing Bengali traditions.
Ashtami – Kumari & Sandhi Puja
Powerful rituals including Kumari Puja (worshipping young girls as the Goddess) and the solemn Sandhi Puja marking the transition to Navami.
Maha Navami – Grand Celebrations
The climax of the festival! Classical music, traditional dance, theatre and community feasts. A day of pure joy and togetherness.
Vijayadashami – Victory Day
The triumph of good over evil. Sindur Khela and Bijaya Sammilani — a joyful farewell to Goddess Durga with the whole community.
